Mission Statement – The Stein Yeshiva Difference

Chartered and licensed by the State of New York Board of Regents since 1986, Stein Yeshiva was founded by a dedicated group of people who recognized the need for a school in lower Westchester that combined a genuine Torah environment and an outstanding Jewish and secular education with boys’ and girls’ divisions.  From the beginning, the yeshiva’s policy has been to charge reasonable tuition rates.  This remains our goal today.

At Stein Yeshiva, we imbue our students with a love of Hashem, Torah, Eretz Yisroel, and Am Yisroel and offer a high-caliber general education program in a warm and loving environment.  The yeshiva believes that education is nothing less than the shaping of life itself.  We work to develop the whole child, carefully guiding the development of middos tovos and a simchas hachaim.  Our goal is to educate Torah-true Jews who will be successful in the technological world of today.  This education begins in our daycare program with newborns, even offering extended hours for working parents.  From the daycare, the children enter the “Toddler Twos” and continue their Jewish and general studies education through the eighth grade.

Stein Yeshiva is a makom Torah where Jewish families from all walks of life can feel welcome. The yeshiva faculty works as a team to design the best educational program for each child and carefully monitors their progress to ensure that they are excelling.  Such individualized attention leads to great personal and academic success, with children advancing years beyond their grade level.  Graduates of Stein Yeshiva are readily accepted to all the yeshiva and day school high schools in the Greater Metropolitan area.

Many families find that Stein Yeshiva is more than a school.  It is a place that not only children, but their parents can call home.  Over the years, many parents have taken the opportunity to learn with Rabbi Cherns and attend our adult education programs, thus developing a close relationship between the yeshiva and home.  Our graduates feel a special attachment to the yeshiva and it is not uncommon for graduates to come and visit the school.
